Maintaining the original quality and value of your property is easy if you take the time to perform
regular upkeep.
Sticking to a maintenance schedule will minimize the work and maximize the value of your new home.
Annually
- Have furnace and A/C serviced
- Drain hot water tank
- Check weather stripping around doors for drafts and leaks
- Insulate outside pipes at the beginning of winter to prevent pipes from freezing
- Replace batteries in all smoke detectors, your family’s safety depends on it
- Inspect for termites and other pest infestations
- Change the filters in furnace and A/C units (bi-annually)
- Inspect exterior for any rotted wood or pealing paint
Always
- Fix dripping faucets, toilet tanks and check under sinks for active leaks
- Replace light bulbs
- Inspect roof for damage after windstorms
